Essential Job Duties/Scope of Work:

International Medical Corps is currently implementing a GBV prevention and response program in north Kivu, through partnership with the International Rescue Committee and local civil society organizations.

The GBV program Manager will lead technical and program implementation of the Funds Social Program including coordination and support to partners.

Program Implementation and Capacity Development

    • Lead the delivery of major program activities, in line with proposal, program plans, and budget
    • Provide technical support and training as necessary to partner organizations
    • Monitor service quality, including GBV case management services
    • Promote teambuilding and principles of self-care
    • Support GBV integration into other IMC programs as relevant
    • Work closely with IMC colleagues and departments to ensure effective implementation
    • Maintain flexibility to take on added responsibility as needed

Coordination

    • Work closely with the IRC as consortium lead for program planning, updates, and continuation proposal
    • Work closely with partner organizations implementing services to understand challenges, provide support, and collect information
    • Coordinate with other partners and service providers, including relevant government authorities and international, national and local organizations
    • Coordinate with other sectors as possible to ensure integration of GBV concerns into various services

Program Planning and Reporting

    • Conduct situational analyses as appropriate to determine the feasibility of specific approaches and interventions
    • Contribute to the development of a continuation proposal, and other GBV proposals as requested
    • Compile program reports, on time and with accurate data

Security and Conduct

    • Ensure compliance with security protocols and policies
    • Consider security implications of all program activities, in consultation with partner organizations
    • Contribute to the positive image and overall credibility of the organization, notably through the application of the organization’s Code of Conduct and Ethics
Qualifications:

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Public Health, International Development or other relevant field of study
  • Three years experience in GBV program design and implementation, including at least one year of international, humanitarian experience
  • Past experience with GBV case management and psychosocial support services
  • Experience working with national partners
  • Fluent in French and English essential
  • Remote management experience preferred
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Relevant regional experience preferred
  • Familiarity with standards and guidelines for GBV programming and coordination as well as guidance on protection from SEA
  • Familiarity with international humanitarian operations and coordination structures
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, to remain flexible to a changing environment, and to make decisions independently
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Capacity to work and live in insecure areas with a volatile and quickly changing security environment
