21-044: Consultant - Psychiatrist

Essential Job Duties/Scope of Work:
The psychiatrist will be responsible to provide in-person or remote way psychiatric consultations when solicitated by the MHPSS case management team to support in the attention of beneficiaries in the need of psychiatric care, providing guidance on the course of treatment, instructions to CM teams and referrals to proper focused care when needed, following care protocols and MhGAP guidelines. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function with or without reasonable accommodation. Responsibilities include: 
Following established care protocols, provide psychiatric medical care to beneficiaries of the SMAPS care program who have been referred by the case manager for specialized care.
Together with the person in charge of case management and the psychology professional, establish strategies and a joint intervention plan for the beneficiaries served.
Carry out psychiatric medical follow-up to the beneficiaries cared for, following the intervention plan previously established in conjunction with the other members of the SMAPS team.
Keep records, statistics and information up to date.

Qualifications:
Essential:

Medical Degree and with specialization in Psychiatry
Minimum of 1 to 2 years of professional experience as a specialist in psychiatry, providing direct care to patients with various mental health conditions, especially with vulnerable populations.
Ability to travel on short notice to project sites by car, boat or air. 
Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communications skills; 
Strong organizational, able to exercise sound judgment and proactive problem-solver; 
Autonomous, creative with ability to work with limited resources;

Desirable:

Good understanding of the project cycle and team work; 
Demonstrated ability to work in a multicultural environment, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and ensure high quality work; 
Computer literacy with demonstrated experience in utilization of databases, Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint in particular.
