Essential Job Duties/Scope of Work:

Position:   Machine Learning Engineer

We are looking for a data scientist that will help us discover the information hidden in vast amounts of data. Your primary focus will be in applying data mining techniques, doing statistical analysis and building high quality prediction models.

In this role, you should be highly analytical with good math and statistics. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential for interpreting data. We also want to see a passion for machine-learning and research.

Key Responsibilities


  • Identify valuable data sources and automate collection processes
  • Undertake processing of structured and unstructured data
  • Ability to do exploratory analysis
  • Selecting features, building and optimizing classifiers using machine learning techniques
  • Processing, cleaning and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis
  • Analyze large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns
  • Build Predictive models and machine learning algorithms
  • Present information using data visualization techniques
  • Propose solutions and strategies to business challenges and use cases

Compliance & Ethics:  Promotes and encourages a culture of compliance and ethics throughout International Medical Corps. As applicable to the position, maintains a clear understanding of International Medical Corps’ and donor compliance and ethics standards and adheres to those standards.  Conducts work with the highest level of integrity. 


   Skills and Qualifications

  • Excellent understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms, such as k-NN, Naive Bayes, SVM, Decision Forests, etc.
  • Experience with common data science toolkits such as python
  • Experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau,D3.js, GGplot, etc.
  • Strong math skills (statistics, Linear algebra)
  • Great communication skills
  • Problem-solving aptitude
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Data oriented personality
  • BSc/BA in Computer Science.
