Job Purpose

The Corporate Procurement Unit is responsible for all procurement and logistics activities in the United States. The unit is the is the process owner of all procurement o pay and inventory management processes in close coordination with other corporate, global program and field departments. In addition to corporate procurement and logistics activities, the unit acts the back office logistics and procurement support for the domestic emergency response program.

Main Responsibility

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function with or without reasonable accommodation. The tasks listed are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all-inclusive.

  • Learn about day to day procure to pay tasks and use of organization ERP
  • Learn about basic asset and warehouse management tasks
  • Learn about different rules and procedures, for e.g., Procurement Manual, Warehouse Manual, Asset Management.
  • Gain experience in programmatic procurement for departments such as HRTU, ERU, RD etc.
  • Learn about the nuances of grant funded vs overhead funded procurement
  • Learn about US government export compliance requirements
  • Learn about international shipping, courier etc.
  • Provide input to operations process improvement, and learn how to better assist other stakeholders
  • Experience how a global emergency preparedness and response NGO operates
  • Provide assistance in special projects as assigned
