19-004: Mental Health Volunteer

Essential Job Duties/Scope of Work:

IMC in Jordan one of big responsible agencies mental health services provision in both Refugees camps, and urban, works with the ministry of health on building the capacity and extend the services to refugees and host community.

The position will be an intern with qualifications in mental health or a related field. The position requires the support staff member to have an understanding of and experience in developing curriculum and working in the mental health and psychosocial sector.

The position requires working with IMC’s MHPSS Coordinator on the specific activities implementation. This will occur through regular meetings and support, and regular visits to Azraq refugee camp where the activities will be implemented.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Development of training
    • The support staff member will assist in the development and implementation of training curricula for IMC mental health child protection related to therapeutic approach and intervention for children and families. 
  • Assist in facilitating group activities
    • The support staff member will attend Azraq camp and assist in facilitating group activities implemented in the camp. The group activities might be related to children activities or supportive groups, including children supportive group, caregivers supportive group and women supportive group. 
  • Assist in identifying and develop potential research program
    • Identifying potential areas of further research related to mental health and/or child protection programs. 
  • Provide support as needed to staff and to the project
    • The support staff member will support IMC’s Mental Health and Child Protection technical support team staff in any other needed area.
