18-434: Regional Human Resources Business Partner
Essential Job Duties/Scope of Work:
International Medical Corps is a global, humanitarian, nonprofit organization dedicated to saving lives and relieving suffering through health care training and relief and development programs.
Established in 1984 by volunteer doctors and nurses, International Medical Corps is a private, voluntary, nonpolitical, nonsectarian organization. Its mission is to improve the quality of life through health interventions and related activities that build local capacity in underserved communities worldwide. By offering training and health care to local populations and medical assistance to people at highest risk, and with the flexibility to respond rapidly to emergency situations, International Medical Corps rehabilitates devastated health care systems and helps bring them back to self-reliance.
•Providing Human Resources operational and strategic support to identified Country Programs.
•Together with Country Directors to build capacity of Country HR teams
•Manage the internal client relationship with Country teams and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction using problem solving ability, negotiation skills, responsiveness and continual communication.

•Provides operational and strategic HR business partnerships to country teams
•Provides in country technical support to HR staff, coaching with focus on issues related to workplace relations, performance management, leadership development and conflict management
•Leads career development activities, including talent identification, capacity assessment and employee development
•Assists local HR staff in implementation of Corporate HR policies and processes
•Provides training, coaching, and capacity building to human resources staff in country offices to ensure consistent application of policies and processes
•Visits countries within their designated area and completes a report for each visit.
•Deployment to emergency response
•Conducts designated compliance trainings within the region as needed and supports Country teams in adherence to compliance and audit recommendations.
•Coordinates with HQ on communication and outreach activities regarding HR projects/initiatives
•Supports and provides guidance on Learning and Development initiatives
•Leads the annual review of benefit packages for the region ensuring consultation with relevant stakeholders
•Other duties as assigned
Compliance & Ethics: Promotes and encourages a culture of compliance and ethics throughout International Medical Corps. As applicable to the position, maintains a clear understanding of International Medical Corps’ and donor compliance and ethics standards and adheres to those standards. Conducts work with the highest level of integrity.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty with satisfactory results. Specifically, the successful candidate must have:
•Bachelor’s Degree in relevant discipline essential and Master’s degree in relevant discipline desirable
•HR professional qualification is essential
•Membership to professional body
•5 – 10 years’ experience
•INGO experience, including extensive field work.
•Ability to travel internationally at short notice
•Leadership & people management experience
•Excellent communication skills
•Experience in building effective teams
•Excellent project management skills
•Organizational and financial acumen
•Ability to drive for results
•Fluent in English is essential
•Fluency in either French or Arabic is desirable
•Experience in working in diverse cultural teams specifically in Africa, Middle East
•Located in Africa, Middle East or European Time Zone is desirable
