Essential Job Duties/Scope of Work:
The Web and Graphics Designer will contribute to these efforts by developing and designing collateral and other branded materials for digital, web, and print.  The position is based at International Medical Corps’ Los Angeles headquarters. 

RESPONSBILITIES:

Create and design communication materials for publication and distribution, based on existing styles and brand guidelines, in collaboration with communications department colleagues; 
Monitor and work to ensure that International Medical Corps graphic standards are maintained on all items used externally worldwide; 
Maintain existing library of documents and collateral to ensure they are up to date and accurate;
Work with other departments within the organization to assess their creative needs and find solutions that fit within the organizations standards from an operations and creative standpoint;
Develop visual support materials, including decks and presentations, one-sheets, reports, booklets and pamphlets;
Work within a Content Management System to maintain and update comprehensive, detailed, multi-level website;
Implement design changes to the website as necessary including designing new pages within the existing structure and/or coordinating with a web developer; 
Work within an online marketing platform to create and edit donation pages and, when necessary, edit emails and HTML associated with emails to create or troubleshoot emails; 
Work with Digital and Marketing team to create collateral for social media, email campaigns, and other digital platforms aimed at cultivating public supporters and informing the public about International Medical Corps’ work;
Synthesize and assess content to determine key points in order to create engaging and compelling visuals with appropriate and compelling hierarchy inline with the overall messaging of each project;
Create infographics and similar visuals by pulling out key messaging from provided content;
Support International Medical Corps’ outreach and education efforts by creating special presentation materials and providing audiovisual support when necessary; 
Help to coordinate the development and production of International Medical Corps visibility materials for both headquarters and field use by producing internally and coordinating with outside vendors; 
Maintain photo library and video library and fulfill duplication needs; 
Provide images and video needed for presentations and other outreach as necessary;
Assist as needed with printing, ordering and distribution of International Medical Corps publications and visibility materials; 
Assist in special event planning and production, along with concepting and designing event collateral ranging from invitation suites to environmental graphics; 
Participate in brainstorms pertaining to communications campaigns and other brand related projects;
Strategically and thoughtfully develop creative solutions and solve problems;
Respond to high priority and last minute requests;
Maintain personal project list within a team tracking system;
Ability to create and edit video a plus;
Other miscellaneous graphic projects, as needed;

Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS:

3-5 years of progressive and relevant experience;
Ability to navigate and thrive in a professional office environment;
Ability to work successfully and effectively, both independently and as part of a team in a multicultural and participatory environment; 
Strong design skills in a broad range of mediums including print, digital, and web;
Expert knowledge of: Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop;
Experience working within a highly structured Content Management System;
Experience updating and maintain a website;
Strong understanding of website maps and structuring;
Understanding of web wireframes and working through user experience flows while keeping in mind user interface and functionality;
Working knowledge of, or strong familiarity with, HTML, CSS, and the web development process;
Ability to work within brand standards;
Detail oriented and precise;
Ability to respond quickly and efficiently under pressure;
Familiarity with social media platforms including image sizing and design best practices;
Working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
Excellent computer skills in both PC and Mac environments;
Experience working in other systems like email marketing tools a plus; 
Strong communication and interpersonal skills: ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and manage working relationships diplomatically; 
Strong spelling, grammar, copywriting and editing skills; 
Understanding of non-profit operations a plus;
Ability to edit video on Final Cut Pro/Premiere a plus.
