Essential Job Duties/Scope of Work:

International Medical Corps is a global, humanitarian, nonprofit organization dedicated to saving lives and relieving suffering through health care training and relief and development programs.

Established in 1984 by volunteer doctors and nurses, International Medical Corps is a private, voluntary, nonpolitical, nonsectarian organization. Its mission is to improve the quality of life through health interventions and related activities that build local capacity in underserved communities worldwide. By offering training and health care to local populations and medical assistance to people at highest risk, and with the flexibility to respond rapidly to emergency situations, International Medical Corps rehabilitates devastated health care systems and helps bring them back to self-reliance.

Main Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function with or without reasonable accommodation. The tasks listed are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all-inclusive.

  • Conduct new hire orientation, communicate details of benefit programs, policies, and procedures in the Employee Handbook
  • Learn about and help with the organization and execution of upcoming fundraising events
  • Learn how to solicit and organize event sponsorships
  • Learn how to analyze and evaluate event results
  • Learn how to manage an event budget
  • Learn how to identify and evaluate event venues and vendors
  • Learn about and help with event RSVPs, seating and communications
  • Learn about our overall major gifts program and communication outreach
  • Learn the fundamentals of the Raiser's Edge database system

Qualifications:

  • Current student or recent graduate

Experience

  • Excellent administrative, leadership and influencing skills,
  • Ability to multi-task and organize projects,
  • PC skills with Microsoft Office and Internet,
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information,
  • Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills in a high-pressure environment.
