18-114: Monitoring & Evaluation Intern
Department:Grants Management
Essential Job Duties/Scope of Work:


The Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning team seeks an Intern to support global M&E system guidance and knowledge management. She or he will learn about the components involved in the improvement of M&E systems. She or he will work with the M&E team to finalize guidance documents and tool kits, survey country teams on learning needs and support facilitation of Community of Practice sessions. Additionally, she or he will support the team in knowledge management activities, including an inventory, re-organization and update of SharePoint files.

Duration: 4- 6 months

Learning Goals:

  • Become familiar with the components of an M&E system and harmonization
  • Learn to facilitate consensus building and incorporate feedback for guidance notes
  • Gain an understanding of M&E work plans, and tool development and dissemination
  • Learn to develop presentations for capacity building in M&E
  • Experience working on a team in systems development and liaising with other departments
  • Become familiar SharePoint and expand on knowledge management capabilities

Anticipated Outputs & Outcomes:

  1. Support team in incorporating feedback, editing, formatting and finalization of guidance documents
  2. Assisting in development of tools kits and associated work plans
  3. Supporting communication to country teams on M&E learning opportunities
  4. Supporting or co-facilitating online learning sessions; participation in development of learning modules
  5. Auditing available resources on SharePoint, improving categorization, storage and visualization of resources
  6. Updating links and folders to toolkit packages

Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse
Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards within International Medical Corps and amongst beneficiaries served by International Medical Corps.

Compliance & Ethics:  Promotes and encourages a culture of compliance and ethics throughout International Medical Corps. As applicable to the position, maintains a clear understanding of International Medical Corps’ and donor compliance and ethics standards and adheres to those standards. Conducts work with the highest level of integrity. 


Desired Profile:

  • Current or recent graduate student in public health, public policy, development studies or related field
  • Previous experience in knowledge management and/or adult learning
  • Clear communicator, strong writing and editing skills, highly organized
  • Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation systems and knowledge management
  • Familiarity with NGOs and organizational standardization
  • Experience working in health in limited resource or crisis setting
  • French or Arabic desirable
