JOB SUMMARY



International Medical Corps seeks a graphic design consultant who will deliver designed content for a Mental Health Integration Toolkit. . The toolkit will inform its users, primarily humanitarian actors, about key components of integrated mental health programs and provide guidance on how to set up such programs in humanitarian settings. The graphic design consultant will be responsible for designing the layout, graphics, video and other visual content for the toolkit, based on written content provided by other members of the project team. In addition, the graphic design consultant will take an active role in the pilot testing and revision process of the toolkit, as well as creation of visual materials for the communications campaign, during the launching, sharing and dissemination of the toolkit.




ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for designing graphics and visual content for mental health integration toolkit project

  • Develop visual support materials and create infographics, based on stories from the field provided by the project team.

  • Create and design outreach materials for publication and distribution, based on existing styles and brand guidelines in collaboration with communications department colleagues;

  • Help to coordinate the development and production of project visibility materials by producing internally and coordinating with the chosen toolkit hosting platform

  • Guide and co-lead the import of the designed toolkit onto the selected online hosting platform, with an emphasis on design, functions, user-friendliness, ease of navigation, and system for ongoing maintenance and updates to toolkit resources (e.g. adding resources to sections with placeholders for these resources, or updating/adding resources as newer versions become available or are produced)

  • Involvement in pilot testing of the toolkit and revising based on feedback provided by target organizations and key humanitarian actors

  • Participate in brainstorming sessions pertaining to communications campaigns during launching, sharing and dissemination of the toolkit

  • Maintain personal project list within a team tracking system;

Qualifications:



  • 5+ years of progressive and relevant experience;

  • Strong design skills in a broad range of mediums including print, digital, and web;

  • Expert knowledge of: Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop;

  • Working knowledge of, or strong familiarity with, HTML, CSS, and the web development process;

  • Experience creating web wireframes and working through user experience flows while keeping in mind user interface and functionality;

  • Ability to work within brand standards;

  • Familiarity with social media platforms;

  • Ability to create and edit video on Final Cut Pro/Premiere

  • Working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint;

  • Excellent computer skills in both PC and Mac environments;

  • Experience working within a Content Management System;

  • Strong spelling, grammar, copywriting and editing skills.
