Essential Job Duties/Scope of Work:
International Medical Corps is a global, humanitarian, nonprofit organization dedicated to saving lives and relieving suffering through health care training and relief and development programs. Established in 1984 by volunteer doctors and nurses, International Medical Corps is a private, voluntary, nonpolitical, nonsectarian organization. Its mission is to improve the quality of life through health interventions and related activities that build local capacity in underserved communities worldwide. By offering training and health care to local populations and medical assistance to people at highest risk, and with the flexibility to respond rapidly to emergency situations, International Medical Corps rehabilitates devastated health care systems and helps bring them back to self-reliance.

JOB SUMMARY



Campaign Objectives


• Raise awareness and build buzz around the event and brand


• Generate significant pre and post event media impressions


• Enhance International Medical Corps’ profile within the entertainment industry


• Fully oversee and staff the red carpet and all press related elements on-site


 


Pre-Event PR


• Work with our team on messaging, press materials and target press lists


• Draft, service and follow up on appropriate press materials leading up to event (Save the date, media alert, post-event alert, talking points, short list, etc…)


• Recommend and secure a house photographer and video crew


• Create a master media list with broadcast, print and online outlets to target


• Conduct media outreach with approved materials to entertainment press and invited media


• Work with our team before, onsite and after the event on media opportunities to maximize exposure



  • Make talent recommendations for performance and other opportunities

  • Support the IMC internal team in securing celebrity attendance



  • Special focus on Celebrity First Responders and talent connected to the Co-Chairs and Leadership Council

  • Focus on emerging and established talent with a history and interest in humanitarian relief, emergency response, and global maternal health

  • Capitalize on talent promoting November/December projects


 


 


On-site Event


• Front of House – press check in, greeting talent


• Red carpet- press placement and check in, one-site event exclusives and asset capture, distribute press materials, talent and VIP handling, asset approval


• Inside – oversee select media invited to cover inside the event, oversee house photo crew, set up key talent and VIP shots and interviews inside


 


Post-Event PR


• Secure post-event coverage with approved event assets


• Service press breaks to team in a timely manner, ensure our team receives raw images and footage the morning after the event


 




Compliance & Ethics:  Promotes and encourages a culture of compliance and ethics throughout International Medical Corps. As applicable to the position, maintains a clear understanding of International Medical Corps’ and donor compliance and ethics standards and adheres to those standards.  Conducts work with the highest level of integrity. 

Qualifications:


Experience in event PR.
