The Security Manager works at the direction of the Country Director/Team Leader and the Director of Global Security. The primary function of the Security Manager is to provide assistance to the Country Director/Team Leader and country programs, as assigned, on all issues of safety and security as they relate to staff at a program site. The Security Consultant will design, implement and oversee daily security management of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) country program. The Security Consultant will monitor and assess security conditions and assist and provide direction to country management teams. The Director of Global Security (DGS) is the technical manager for the Security Manager.
The ongoing humanitarian crisis in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has reached catastrophic levels with millions facing severe hunger in some parts of the country, the recent outbreak of violence and resulting displacement in Ituri Province is now considered to be the worst humanitarian crisis across the country. There are huge gaps in every humanitarian sector (Health, Nutrition, WASH, NFI, Shelter).
As a result, International Medical Corps has determined there is a critical need for essential health services and will contribute to the reduction of morbidity and mortality of the impacted population in the humanitarian crisis in the DRC by providing basic Primary Health Center services to both adults and children with provisional essential drugs via Medical Mobile Units in the Ituri province in the DRC to those who have been impacted by the Humanitarian Crisis.
In addition to PHC services we will implementing emergency preparedness and response activities via health education and hygiene promotion with CHWs (especially with the risk of cholera) as well as nutrition counseling and education.
