Job Purpose
The Grants Management and Communications Officer is responsible for ensuring compliance with general donor regulations, grant specific requirements and IMC policies and procedures. Additionally, this position will ensure that all information and data collected from the field is compiled, documented, analyzed and reported in a results-based and timely manner for International Medical Corps DRC mission internal purposes and as per donor requirements. The position is also responsible to develop high-quality communication products, highlighting IMC programme activities for external audiences

Main Responsibilities

  • Assist with interpretation on donor requirements and ensure compliance
  • Support the review of donor awards, subawards, memorandum of understanding, and other agreements as necessary
  • Support programme unit to compile high quality concept papers and proposals, specially compilation of inputs and editing of concept/proposal documents
  • Ensure IMC DR Congo mission grant files are updated and maintained for ease of reference
  • Regularly update grant portfolio document, monitoring and tracking reporting timelines and proposal development timelines
  • Liaise with the Grants and Contracts Management Department at HQ as necessary regarding donor requirements and internal IMC procedures


  • Under the supervision of the Program Director and in close collaboration with the M&E Manager, ensure timely compilation of programme and project data to comply with internal, donor, and sector coordination reporting requirements by deadline;
  • Ensure tools and processes are adequate and in place for purpose to collect relevant quantitative and qualitative information required for reporting to a range of stakeholders;
  • Provide editing and quality assurance of all internal and external reports for review by the Management prior to dissemination.


  • Under the Supervision of the Program Director, develop, implement, and monitor a communication and visibility plan to facilitate better understanding among partners, donors, beneficiaries and host communities, media, the general public, and government stakeholders about IMC DR Congo mission as an organization including programme achievements and progress;
  • Act as the focal point for collecting and compiling information to produce internal/external communication materials highlighting the IMC contribution toward responding to crisis, ensuring the respect of organization ethics and code of conduct and standards are considered before all products are disseminated publicly;
  • Provide high-quality editing of reports, text and any program and communication materials and products to the standard required for public dissemination;
  • Maintain and update IMC DR Congo country profile documents, fact sheets, and presentations for external audiences;
  • Ensure all IMC and donor visibility requirements and communications commitments are implemented;
  • In coordination with the PD, liaise with IMC Communication Department at HQ as required.

Training/ Capacity Building

  • Provide capacity building to programme, Finance and logistics departments’ staff to ensure reporting requirements and toolkits are used effectively;
  • Ensure all staff know and integrate the IMC framework in all programs

  • Master degree in a relevant field


  • Minimum two years working experience with US Federal (USAID/OFDA, DOS/BPRM, DHHS/CDC), and European (ECHO, DFID) donor regulations
  • Minimum two years working experience with United Nations (UNHCR, UNICEF, UNOCHA, UNFPA), CHF, and World Bank donor regulations
  • Experience in conducting evaluations, preferably using participatory approaches
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment
  • Fluency in English and French is essential
