Essential Job Duties/Scope of Work:

Its mission is to improve the quality of life through health interventions and related activities that build local capacity in underserved communities worldwide. By offering training and health care to local populations and medical assistance to people at highest risk, and with the flexibility to respond rapidly to emergency situations, International Medical Corps rehabilitates devastated health care systems and helps bring them back to self-reliance.

Purpose of the Assignment
The Transformation Change Management Specialist/Consultant is a professional staff that will play a key role in ensuring projects (change initiatives) meet objectives on time and on budget by increasing employee adoption and usage. They will focus on the people side of change, including changes to business processes, systems and technology, job roles and organization structures. The primary responsibility will be creating and implementing change management strategies and plans that maximize employee adoption and usage and minimize resistance. The change manager will work to drive faster adoption, higher ultimate utilization of and proficiency with the changes that impact employees. These improvements will increase benefit realization, value creation, ROI and the achievement of results and outcomes. They will report to the Director of Project Management.  The individual will work through others in the organization to succeed and will act as a coach for senior leaders and executives in helping them fulfil the role of change sponsor. They may also provide direct support and coaching to all levels of managers and supervisors as they help their direct reports through transitions. They will support project teams in integrating change management activities into their project plans.

Scope of the Assignment

Core Tasks:

  • Apply a structured methodology and lead change management activities through change management process and tools to create a strategy to support adoption of the changes required by a project or initiative.
  • Drive the communication strategy through the development, delivery and management of a communications plan.
  • Assess the change impact by identifying key stakeholders, conducting impact analyses, continuous assessment of change readiness; develop, analyze, and manage mitigation strategies and tactics.
  • Establish and run user focus groups to help business adopt new tools, processes and procedure as a result of the new projects and/or initiatives
  • Embed change management processes and tools by training and communication initiatives.

Additional Tasks may include:

  • Complete change management assessments
  • Support training efforts by providing input, document requirements, and support the design delivery of training programs. 
  • Identify and manage anticipated resistance
  • Consult and coach project teams
  • Create actionable deliverables for the five change management levers: communications plan, sponsor roadmap, coaching plan, training plan, resistance management plan
  • Support and engage senior leaders
  • Coach managers and supervisors
  • Support organizational design and definition of roles and responsibilities
  • Coordinate efforts with other specialists
  • Integrate change management activities into project plan
  • Evaluate and ensure user readiness
  • Manage stakeholders
  • Track and report issues
  • Define and measure success metrics and monitor change progress
  • Support change management at the organizational level
  • Manage the change portfolio
  • Others as assigned

Documentation Requirements:

  • Detailed documentation is required and will be timely stored in the designated location.
  • Documentation may include but not limited to methodologies, recommendations, schedules & plans, artifacts (e.g. interviews, surveys, etc.), engagement notes, agreements, issues/risks, progress, and/or anything else related to rendering services related to the design and implementation of transformation change management within the organization.

Communication and Reporting Requirements:

Communication will take place within the project team as well as with key stakeholders across the enterprise.  This includes top level executives, to middle line management, and front-line staff members.  Communication with the supervisor will focus primarily on strategy, planning, and reporting of results. Communication with the project team members will focus on the features, functions, and form of the system; as well as messaging required from the project team in its interaction with key stakeholders.  Communication with the greater organization will focus on education and preparation.  Progress will be reported directly to the supervisor and/or project leadership team.   Face-to-face as well as indirect communication will take place across multiple mediums that may include telephony, conference bridge, electronic messaging, internal/external applications and/or tools, and others.

Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications:
  • MBA
  • Bachelors’ degree in Business Administration, Organizational Behaviour, relevant to work
  • Certifications: Certified Change Management Professionals (CCMP), Change Management Specialist (CMS), Certified Professional Change Management (CPCM)
  • Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt

Required Experience:

  • Minimum five (5) of experience in organizational transformation change management
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience leading engagements
  • Must have successfully led a minimum of three (3) implementations of an enterprise wide initiative/ERP system/HRIS system, each with an overall budget of no less than $250,00
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time and legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
  • Good MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint; and graphical skills for visual communications
  • A solid understanding of how people go through a change and the change process
  • Experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools
  • Excellent active listening skills
  • Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationship
  • Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goa
