Essential Job Duties/Scope of Work:

Background

Provide Human Resources operational and strategic support to country programs in non-safeguarding employee relations and investigations. Partnering with legal and other stakeholders, this position will support country programs in mitigating risk and resolution of employee relations issues through quality investigations.

S/he will manage the internal client relationship with country teams and other investigating teams and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction using problem solving ability, negotiation skills, responsiveness and continued communication.

Main Responsibilities

  • Leads in coordination of response to employee relations complaints
  • Conducts objective, fair, thorough, unbiased and timely investigations into allegations employee relations complaints and produces comprehensive report
  • Build strong working relationships with all stakeholders to maintain confidence and professionalism in objective management of employee relations
  • Identifies interdepartmental and country program referral pathways and recommended actions
  • Prepares and provides necessary updates and metrics on employee relations to Deputy Director Regional HR and Senior Director HR and HR Investigations Case Team (where necessary)
  • Works with Regional HRBP to provide HR operational and strategic support to country teams with emphasis on building positive employee relations
  • Assists in the development of relevant training and capacity building in HR practices and processes to country teams to build positive employee relations
  • Together with Regional HRBP assist local HR staff in implementation of Corporate HR policies and processes on employee relations.
  • Lead country teams in managing disciplinary action, stemming from substantiated employee relations cases, including documenting and following up progress.
  • Monitor, identify trends & issues on employee relations for timely management and mitigation.
  • Visits countries to support employee relation matters as and when required.
  • Conduct designated employee relations management trainings as needed and support country teams in adherence to recommendations.
  • Supports and provides guidance on Learning and Development initiatives on employee relations
  • Maintain case tracking database for all non-safeguarding employee relations investigations.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Essential: Relevant Bachelor’s degree
Desirable: Master’s degree, business, non-profit management.

Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience working within a humanitarian context
  • Demonstrate HR professional experience in an international, matrix organization (IO, NGO, Corporate)
  • Track record of strategy development and implementation as a senior HR professional
  • Experience in managing employee relations
  • Solid track of managing and supporting diverse and multicultural teams
  • Experience in business partnering.
