Essential Job Duties/Scope of Work:

PROGRAM BACKGROUND
The PSEA/Safeguarding Unit of International Medical Corps is seeking a consultant to advise the organization on enhancing protection and safeguarding aspects within its international programs. Anticipated duration of the consultancy is approximately 16 to 20 weeks.  Under the supervision of the VP for International and Domestic Affairs, the advisor will assist with enhancing the integration of protection objectives into program design and technical support for the organization’s multi-sectoral interventions.  

JOB SUMMARY

The PSEA/Safeguarding Unit of International Medical Corps is seeking a consultant to advise the organization on enhancing protection and safeguarding aspects within its international programs. Anticipated duration of the consultancy is approximately 16 to 20 weeks.  Under the supervision of the VP for International and Domestic Affairs, the advisor will assist with enhancing the integration of protection objectives into program design and technical support for the organization’s multi-sectoral interventions.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties will include:

  • In consultation with the PSEA/Safeguarding Unit and the Department of International Programs, facilitate the development of a multi-sectoral protection integration approach for the organization
  • Identify gaps in meeting standards of safety, dignity and accessibility in various sectors of the organization’s programming
  • In collaboration with Monitoring and Evaluation and Technical teams, assist in the enhancement of indicators that monitor and measure protection outcomes
  • Identify and develop an internal dissemination strategy for relevant internationally recognized guidance and tools to better institutionalize multi-sectoral integration of protection objectives and outcomes
  • As needed, provide feedback on protection and prevention elements within existing PSEA/Safeguarding materials, policies, procedures and protocols
  • As needed, provide advisory guidance to recommendations and findings resulting from investigations of SEA/Safeguarding complaints

Qualifications:
Background in protection, safeguarding, or related sector
Experience with integration of protection objectives into program design
Experience with providing technical support to NGOs in the area of protection
