BACKGROUND TO THE ASSIGNMENT:
International Medical Corps (IMC) has received funding from the Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration (PRM) to increase the utilization of GBV prevention and response services integrated with mental health and psychosocial support services for Afghan refugees in 9 Refugee Villages in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. Starting in 2016, IMC has been implementing a three-year project to address the GBV-related issues, through a comprehensive community-based strategy in 9 RVs of 3 districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. During the project implementation, it was realized that a behavioural change model that is scientific and quantifiable shall be adopted to maximize the impact of project interventions. ‘‘Engaging Men through Accountable Practice (EMAP)’ models, which were developed by International Rescue Committee (IRC) through support from PRM, remained under the discussion among project implementation team to incorporate in next phase. In order to ensure effective delivery of the GBV program and enhance aid effectiveness in the GBV sector, IMC works in close coordination and collaboration with the change agents in the community, UNHCR and its local partners, Gender-Based Violence Sub-Sector and relevant govt. departments. A key component under this project is to engage men through accountable practices for reducing GBV and VAWG in refugee villages. In the first quarter of project implementation, IMC field staff will be trained on EMAP after contextualizing the EMAP model. Then community men and boys will be engaged through EMAP model for their effective and sustainable contribution towards greater objectives of the project interventions. To prepare the project team for the roll-out of the EMAP model, IMC will contextualize the training model and conduct necessary trainings in the field facilitated jointly by IMC staff and an external consultant.

International Medical Corps (Pakistan Program) seeks a consultant to facilitate its GBV team for the engaging men aspect of its Gender Based Violence prevention and response program through a series of trainings. These trainings will specifically focus on the “Engaging Men in Accountable Practices EMAP” modules. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential functions below with minimal supervision.
