Working under the supervision of the Food Security and Livelihoods Advisor, the Emergency Food Security and Livelihoods Officer will be part of a team to be deployed in response to a crisis and will assist in assessing the food and livelihoods needs of crisis-affected populations and contribute to the analysis and design of appropriate responses. S/he will closely work in partnership with other sectors within the Emergency Response Unit to ensure that food security and livelihoods assistance are effective in meeting needs.
The Emergency Food Security and Livelihoods Officer will work to ensure the implementation of emergency food security, cash transfers, restocking, seeds and other food assistance activities as well as contribute to the livelihoods recovery of the disaster-affected populations. The Emergency Food Security and Livelihoods Officer will be responsible for participating in sector-specific and multi-sectoral assessments, supervising, guiding and advising FSL assistants in the selection, registration and verification of beneficiaries. S/he will draft Situational Reports and contribute to the overall response by International Medical Corps to the crisis. S/he will liaise with partners and communities to ensure the timely provision of food security and livelihood assistance and will be deployed as part of an initial team following the onset of a disaster.
