Job Purpose
The Senior Financial Analyst II is responsible assisting senior and middle management in rolling out TM1 on a worldwide basis; whether it be preparation, training and/or creation of various fundamental, organization-wide financial reporting and capacity building with emphasis on Country Operational programming.

Main Responsibilities

  • Work with Split Finance and Operational Desks to train and develop staff capacity and understanding as it relates to Cognos BI reports and system business processes
  • Develop models and forecasts (sand boxes) to provide senior management with timely and accurate financial information to support strategic decision-making. Participate in the development and coordinate implementation of new accounting and financial procedures on a Field level
  • Develop and improve existing reports that present data in a format that drives informed decision-making
  • Prepare and assist with financial presentations for senior management, board meetings and other external and internal audiences
  • Ensure reporting processes provide accurate, actionable information to department/unit managers
  • Assist with and coordinate the preparation of the annual consolidated budget including corporate and field forecasts
  • Review existing processes and internal controls to drive continuous improvement related to accuracy, efficiency, auditability and transparency
  • Design, develop, and deploy reports and dashboards using Cognos BI in collaboration with Split Finance, Operations and Corporate Finance
  • TM1 administration, including design, monitoring security, troubleshooting and optimization

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance or Management Information Systems or Combination thereof


  • Technical accounting and Financial Planning & Analysis skills related to systems and database management
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) desirable
  • 10 years’ Financial Analysis
  • Mixed background in Government, Private and Not for Profit
  • Experience in accounting and FP&A desirable
  • Broad understanding of SQL, relational reporting systems, and multiple database source query techniques
  • Knowledge of Cognos and related software Planning Analyst, Analysis Studio and PowerPlay
  • Knowledge of USAID regulations and familiarity with CFR 2 200 desirable
  • Knowledge of Grant Accounting desirable
  • Knowledge of Internal Rate of Return Analysis desirable
  • Knowledge of entities utilizing multiple cost center, entities and charge back systems desirable
  • Proficient in TM1 and related software:Café, PAX, Perspectives, Architect, Performance Modeler and Web
  • Proficient in multiple ERP system platforms, such as: Hyperion, PeopleSoft and Deltek
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications with emphasis on Excel
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Able to interact with all levels of financial and program management
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and perform with minimum supervision
  • Outstanding organizational skills
