Essential Job Duties/Scope of Work:
***NOTE*** - THIS POSITION IS TO APPLY TO A STAND BY ROSTER FOR INTERNATIONAL MEDICAL CORPS EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM (ERT).

Candidates selected for this position will be placed on the ERT standby roster and may be called when the International Medical Corps ERT responds to an emergency. This position is not compensated unless candidates are responding to an emergency response.

When catastrophe hits, International Medical Corps is often one of the first humanitarian aid organizations on the scene—providing rapid and effective aid that saves lives, reduces suffering, and promotes self reliance.

International Medical Corps has established an International Emergency Roster to ensure that emergency positions are filled in a timely manner with professionally qualified, gender balanced, geographically diverse, linguistically able and a highly motivated corps of professionals. The team includes coordinators, logisticians, doctors and water and sanitation experts. It also includes specialists who focus on protection, prevention of sexual violence and aid for rape survivors and mental health.

Emergency Response Team (ERT) members are always on standby to deploy to a crisis within 72 hours, whether they are launching into new areas or lending support to International Medical Corps teams already on the ground.

International Medical Corps maintains a roster of staff which is updated on regular basis in order to include new staff into the system. This also provides an opportunity for the existing staff to update their areas of expertise and other relevant information.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES:
• Set basic IT office functions such as simple network to enable data sharing, files printing, internet access for other ERT members.
• Establish tools for effective data communication from affected area towards HQ and IMC external parties.
• Assess local capacity for access to communication network in affected areas (as back up to IMC ERT comms system for data transfers)
• Ensure data back-ups and data protection.
• Set up basic power protection for IT equipment.
• Locate local suppliers and support services for IT equipment (if existing).
• Start looking for longer term communication solutions and office set up from IT perspective (if indication that intervention may be for longer period of time)
• Liaise with HQ IT department for remote support with necessary.
• Coordinate with other team members / departments to ensure optimal achieving of all tasks.
• Provide on the ground technical support for all field ERT sites via phone and Internet
• Documentation of field IT systems and uses and make recommendations
• Audit and report back any misuses of IT equipment
Qualifications:
SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
• 5+ years of Windows XP, Vista, and 7 experience in small to mid-size environments of 30 to 200 devices
• Hands-on experience with Windows Server file and print sharing as well as file share permissions
• 5+ years of computer hardware, software, and networking troubleshooting skills
• Experience in setting up secure WiFi networks using WPA/WPA2 a must
• Hardware imaging
• Intermediate knowledge of WAN/LAN networks and protocols
• Basic knowledge of Office Suites including 2003, 2007, and 2010
• Hands-on experience on satellite communication devices including VSAT and BGAN
• Experience in virus and malware removal, Windows patching, and Windows Group Policies
• Experience in hardware repair of desktops and laptops
• Provide on the ground technical support for all field ERT sites via phone and Internet
• Documentation of field IT systems and uses and make recommendations
• Audit and report back any misuses of IT equipment
• Provide field staff training
• Help transition ERT functions to long-term IT staff
• SharePoint experience is a plus
• Experience with Web filtering is a plus
• Knowledge on how to configure POP3, IMAP, RPC over HTTP, and OWA is a plus
• Good interpersonal skills and works well in team environment
